Investing in Coaching
Only invest in coaching when there’s a clear line of sight between the achievement of coaching objectives, & the delivery of strategic goals or commercial results. Before committing to coaching, work out how it can have a beneficial impact upon your business.
I evaluate the effectiveness of my coaching by:
- Measuring progress against agreed objectives
- Observing demonstrable changes in clients
- Soliciting client feedback
- Where appropriate, prompting the client to ask colleagues whether or not they have noticed a difference in them (both in the short- and longer-term)
What kind of investment is required ?
Coaching can deliver far greater value for money than many off-job training courses. Twelve hours of one-to-one coaching tailored to the individual, & focused on their performance at work, spread over 6 to 9 months, is likely to have more of a lasting impact, than twice that time on a group training course.
A typical programme of 6 sessions, each lasting up to 2 hours, will cost £3500 + VAT & expenses. I invoice £1500 after the first coaching session. We review progress at the end of the third session, & when we agree to continue with a further 3 sessions, I invoice the second £1500. The final £500 is only payable when the client is happy that there has been a sufficient Return On Investment after the course of 6 sessions.
Additional expenses are incurred in travelling to meet clients outside London, & if we decide to use personality profiling tools.
“Amanda was recommended to me by the HR department at the FT. After the initial meeting she quickly developed an appropriate strategy that produced exactly the results I was looking for. She knows her subject incredibly well, and has a wide variety of techniques at her disposal which she uses to optimum effect. Working with Amanda was an extremely positive, first rate experience. Highly recommended.”
